Children's Privacy
Children under the age of 13 are not allowed to use the Golfsmack.com web site. Clubhouse does not knowingly collect personal information about children under the age of 13 or allow them to use the Site. If Clubhouse learns that a child under the age of 13 is using the Site, Clubhouse will close the child's account and delete all information collected about the child. Notwithstanding the foregoing, Clubhouse may choose to retain the child's e-mail address as a means to prevent the child from re-registering with Golfsmack.com.
We recommend that minors over the age of 13 ask their parents for permission before sending any information about themselves to anyone over the Internet.
Use of the information collected
Information collected automatically is used for purposes such as assessing system performance, improving web services and web site management. We do not use this data to determine your identity unless required to do so as part of an internal investigation or other law enforcement purpose.
When you register at the Site, you may create your own profile. Your profile information, as well as your name, email and photo, are displayed to other users of the Site. We may occasionally use your name and email address to send you notifications regarding new services offered by Clubhouse that we think you may find valuable.
Profile information is used by Clubhouse primarily to be presented back to and edited by you when you access the service and to be presented to others.
Clubhouse may use information in your profile without identifying you as an individual to third parties. We do this for purposes such as aggregating how many users like a particular golf course and personalizing advertisements and promotions so that we can provide you the Site. We believe this benefits you. For example, if you put a favorite brand of club in your profile, we might serve you an advertisement highlighting a sale on that club brand in your region. But we don't tell any third parties who you are.
We share your information with third parties only in limited circumstances where we believe such sharing is 1) reasonably necessary to offer the service, 2) legally required or, 3) permitted by you.
We may provide information to service providers to help us bring you the services we offer. Specifically, we may use third parties to facilitate our business, such as to host the service at a data center facility for servers, to process payments for products or services, or to provide search results or links (including sponsored links). In connection with these offerings and business operations, our service providers may have access to your personal information for use for a limited time in connection with these business activities. Where we utilize third parties for the processing of any personal information, we implement reasonable contractual and technical protections limiting the use of that information to the Clubhouse-specified purposes.
We may from time to time use third parties to directly deliver advertising to users. These third parties may track information such as what ads are clicked, date and time of visit, and your IP address.
These third party advertisers may also download cookies to your computer to measure the effectiveness of their ads and to personalize advertising content. This enables the third party to recognize your computer each time they send you an advertisement in order to measure the effectiveness of their ads and to personalize advertising content. In this way, they may compile information about where individuals using your computer or browser saw their advertisements and determine which advertisements are clicked. Third party advertisers have no access to your contact information stored on the Site unless you choose to share it with them.
Clubhouse or any of their respective assets, including the Site, may be sold, or other transactions may occur in which your personally identifiable information is one of the key business assets. In such a case, your personally identifiable information, which we have gathered, may be one of the business assets we transfer.
We may share your information (including, without limitation, personally identifiable information) with our subsidiaries and affiliates.
What Safeguards Are in Place?
We are obligated to protect your personal information by making reasonable security arrangements against such risks as unauthorized access, collection, use, disclosure or disposal. Security measures have been integrated into the design, implementation and day-to-day operating practices as part of our continuing commitment to the protection of personal information.
Your account information is located on a secured server behind a firewall. Because email and instant messaging are not recognized as secure communications, we request that you not send private information to us by email or instant messaging services.
